There are two hidden characters in Final Fantasy VII: Yuffie Kisaragi and Vincent Valentine. These characters will not join you on their own. For each character, there is something you must do to get them to join your team. This guide will tell you how to get Yuffie and Vincent.

How To Find Yuffie

Near Fort Condor, at the base of a mountain, you will find several patches of forest. Run around in these forests until you enter combat with a creature called "Mystery Ninja". You will be able to tell that it's Yuffie right away by the way that she looks. Keep pounding her with your best spells until the fight stops. You will find yourself in a grassy area, along with Yuffie. First and foremost DO NOT USE THE SAVE POINT! Doing so will cause Yuffie to run away with some of your Gil. Yuffie will now ask you several questions. You must give the following answers:

Yuffie: "You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!"

Cloud: "Not interested."

Yuffie: "You're pretty scared of me, huh!?"

Cloud: "....petrified."

Yuffie: "I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!"

Cloud: "Wait a second!"

Yuffie: "All right! I'll go with you!"

Cloud: "....Let's hurry on."

After this dialogue, Yuffie will be under your control.

How To Find Vincent

Vincent can be found in the Shinra Mansion when you return to Nibelheim. After entering the mansion, go up the stairs to the left. You will find a room with a safe in it. To open the safe, you must enter each number with the circle button without going over that number. To make this even tougher, you have to do it within a time limit. The combination is right 36, left 10, right 59, right 97. Once you enter these numbers correctly, you will be thrown into a boss fight. The boss, Lost Number, is easily overcome. After beating him you can collect the Odin summon materia, Red XIII's ultimate limit break, and a key. No go down into the basement where you went in your flashback at Kalm. Just outside the library where Sephiroth was, you'll find a door at the top of the screen. You can now enter this door. Press circle to open the middle coffin. Inside, you'll find Vincent. After talking to you he'll go back to sleep, but wake him up again to learn his name. Now go into the library. When you come out, Vincent will be waiting in the hallway. He will now join your party.
